Artist Statement

My work celebrates a huge love for colour, shape and texture . My work is layers and layers of paint, mark makings are all part of the the visual landscape of my canvas, the history of the art process.

My subjects are everyday people doing everyday things . I take inspiration from other cultures and their daily rituals and routines. My love for Africa plays a special part in my work. I first visited when i was 15 to Kenya. I was mesmerised by the people, the beauty of their culture and the stunning landscape. Recently in 2019 I visited Ethiopia with Create Impact an NGO working hand in hand with remote communities in Ethiopia to provide education, water and health care projects that create a lasting impact.

I continue to support this charity  and others through my work. I work to travel and hope to see as much of this amazing earth and the peoples that inhabit it as I can and bring attention to the plight of so many less fortunate.

Travel is my passion and i believe with travel that your mind becomes bigger and enables you to see differently, to be inclusive, to broaden our thinking, to be human. Travelling is as much about the journey as it is the destination.
